Ernest Josime Burke

Funeral service for the late Ernest Josime Burke, 94, Richmond Villa, formerly of River Bourgeois, was held August 11 in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Antolin Asor officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. Burke died August 6, 2018, in the villa. Born April 3, 1924, he was a son of the late Joseph P. and Clara (Landry) Burke. He made a living as a carpenter and farmer. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially when a crib or crokinole game was involved. He also spent numerous hours making wood carvings and folk art creations. He is survived by three daughters, Anna, Rita (Michel), Anita (Rejean); two sons, Basil (Linda), Bernard (Darlene); eight grandchildren, Gaston, Danny (Robynn), Kyle (Shannon), Jason, Sally (Jordan), Julia, Beverlee (Chris), Phillip (Lindsay); two great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Jack; two step great-grandchildren, Harrison, Elyse; five sisters, Margaret, Irene, Mary, Theresa, Emily; three brothers, Roderick, John, Richard. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Mary B.; six brothers, Vitus, Alex, Anthony, Freddie, Eddie, Raymond; sister, Anna.
