HERNEY, Elissa Rose Membertou With heavy hearts our family announce the passing of Elissa Rose Herney, daughter of the late Hazel Herney and the late John Christmas. She was the best friend of Deborah Mugridge. She will be forever remembered and greatly missed by her aunts, Linda Wells (Lawrence), Sylvia Herney; uncles, Jeffrey Herney, Clifford Copage (Susan), and her godfather, uncle Bruce Herney (Sandra), and aunt, Elizabeth (Ike) Paul. She is sadly missed by her many cousins and loving relatives, great-uncles, Sulian Herney, Bobby Herney, Freddie Googoo. Predeceased by her parents, and grandparents, the late Putus Charlie Herney (Matilda), and Patrick and Mary Julia Christmas; aunts, Theresa Mugridge (Leo), Rhodena (Russel) Christmas, Bernadine Herney; uncles, Earl Herney, Michael Herney, and the love of her life, the late Chico Labobe. Elissa was a free spirited, independent young businesswoman. She worked long hours in the family store for many years. She had a beautiful smile that lit up the room. Her hearty laugh made you feel her happiness. She loved animals, especially her dogs Billy and Buddy, as well as her cats Tinker Bell and Sister Bear. She enjoyed browsing the flea markets and travelling the backroads of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick with her (Babes) Chico. She had a special place in her heart for Jean Labobe. Visitation will be held at 15 Aqmoqewawti St., Membertou after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys, with Father Bill Burke presiding.
