Edward 'Wendell' Maceachern
Funeral service for the late Edward ‘Wendell’ MacEachern, 83, Mississauga, Ontario, formerly of Cape George, Antigonish County, was held June 12 in St. Columba Church, Lakevale, with Father Andrew Boyd officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. MacEachern died May 23, 2018, at home. Readers at the funeral Mass were Corrine Scott and Dawson Chisholm. Eucharistic minister was Betty Farrell. Robert Chisholm and Camyron Chisholm presented the offertory gifts. Music was provided by Margaret MacGregor MacDonald and Karen Beaton. Urn bearer was Eddie Chisholm. Born May 20, 1935, in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Edward and Florence (MacDonald) MacEachern. Although he lived and worked in Ontario most of his life, he made trips home to Cape George every year to see family and friends. He enjoyed his work as a truck driver, often holding down two jobs at a time and he continued to drive even after his retirement. He is survived by two sisters, Greta (Archie) Cameron, Mahoney’s Beach; Magdalen (Dave) Lowe, Antigonish; sister-in-law, Sharon MacEachern, Antigonish; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, brother, Allister MacEachern; brother-in-law, D.P. Chisholm, Jr. Memorial donations may be made to N. S. Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cape George Heritage Museum.
