JEFFERSON, Edward Alexander The family of Edward Alexander Jefferson, husband of Sandra DeLong-Arthurs, are deeply saddened to announce his passing which occurred on October 8, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney, NS, on April 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Horace L. and Annie 'Nan' (Johnson) Jefferson. He was employed with the CNR as a Carman throughout his working life. He was very active with the maintenance of Beulah. He was a 31-year member of BW. Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Edward (Andrea) of Ontario; daughter, Karen Lee Tighe of Sydney, NS; step-sons, Murray and Vincent Arthurs of New Brunswick; his grandchildren, Brialee, Jackson, Marcus, Lianne and Emilie; his great-granddaughter, Mia, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Brenda (Taylor) Jefferson; step-son, Victor Arthurs; brother, William Jefferson, and his sisters, Peggy Buchanan and Sharon Ball. Arrangements, under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424). The family will receive relatives and friends at the Beulah Dinning Hall, Browns Flat, NB, on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 10 until 11 a.m. at which time the funeral service will take place. Interment will take place at the Oakfield Cemetery, Sydney, NS, in the summer of 2020. Remembrances made to the SJRH Dialysis, SJRH Palliative Care or a charity of donor's choice would be appreciated.
