Dorna Griffin

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our dear mother, Dorna Griffin on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Julia O’Connell. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish. Dorna enjoyed going to Bingo and playing cards. She enjoyed traveling across Canada to visit with her children. She had many friends over the years and will be truly missed. Dorna is survived by her children, Sharon (John Q.) McNeil, Bridgeport, Patti Foster, Steinbach, Manitoba, Patrick Griffin, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jimmy (Angel) Griffin, New Waterford, Terry (Jane) Griffin, Grand Cache, Alberta; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Terrance Griffin; sons, Kevin and Johnny Griffin; daughter, Ann Warner, British Columbia. There will be no visitation or service by request, a family graveside service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the CBRH, 4E and the Palliative Care Unit for all their care and compassion given to our mother during her stay there.
