Donnie ‘Dixie’ MacNeil

Funeral service for the late Donnie ‘Dixie’ MacNeil, 79, was held September 14 in St. Ninian Cathedral with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating. Mr. MacNeil died September 8, 2018, in St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish. Readers at the funeral Mass were Denise Schroeder, Darryl Gaines and Bill Arnold. Abbey and Jessica Gaines presented the offertory gifts. Music was provided by Emery Van de Wiel. Urn bearer was Bill Arnold. Born in Antigonish and raised in Cloverville, he was the son of the late Marge and Eddie MacNeil. He lived and worked in various places across Canada and the United States. He is survived by sister, Donna (Bill) Arnold, Dartmouth; niece, Denise; nephew, Darryl; three great-nieces, Alicia, Abbey, Jessica; great-nephew, Kevin; cousins, Marian, Bill.
