Donna (Bates) Tracey

Donna Marie Tracey, age 64 of Dominion, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney after a brief illness. Born in Glace Bay, Donna was the daughter of the late Aloysius and Margie (Higgins) Bates. Donna was a very compassionate and devoted mother. She enjoyed knitting, dancing, playing darts and going to Tim Hortons. Donna is survived by her partner, Charlie Starzyczny, one daughter, Michelle Bosco (Mike), one son, Dwayne (Val), both in Ontario, two sisters, Kathy Fowler (Paul), Glace Bay, Eileen Richardson (Robert), Sydney, one brother, Michael Bates (Janice), Sydney, grandson, Connor Bosco, two stepchildren, Colin (Amanda) Starzyczny, Charlie (Trina) Starzyczny, step grandchildren, Jacob, Landen, Jamie, Charlie, step great grandchildren, John and Jack, one aunt, Betty MacDonald, one uncle, Johnny Higgins and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is Thursday, June 7th, 2018 from 1 pm until the time of the funeral service at 4 pm, all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Cremation to follow. Interment will be at a later date in St. Eugene’s Cemetery, Dominion. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
