Donald Zwicker — Yarmouth

Donald Zwicker
ZWICKER, Donald Milton – age 90, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 16, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with family at his side. Born January 7, 1928 in Lunenburg, he was a son of the late Edwin and Hazel Marie (Keizer) Zwicker. Donald was a veteran of the second World War having served with the Merchant Marines. Aside from serving in the military, he also worked as a fisherman. Donald enjoyed driving his scooter around town and on the trails. He is survived by three daughters, Donna (Randall) Chetwynd, Hazel (Arthur) Purdy, both of Rockville and Carolyn Zwicker (David Sisco), Yarmouth, as well as by eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Evangeline Bollivar and Joan Robar. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Cecilia M. (Smith) Zwicker; a sister, Marguerite Whynot and brothers, Paul, Joe, Clarey, Mervin. Visitation took place from 2-4 & 6-8 Sunday at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, November 19, Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiated. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. Donations in memory of Donald may be made to Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
