Dennis Turnbull

March 7, 2018. Turnbull, Dennis Gerald, 74 of Stellarton passed away March 6, 2018 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late James and Martha(Foster)Turnbull. Dennis was born in New Glasgow, growing up in Stellarton where he spent most of his life. He was employed with the Town of Stellarton for a number of years, later working for the School Board from where he retired with over 30 years service. Dennis enjoyed Darts, Dancing, Baseball, Bowling, Newfoundland Music and his Scratch Tickets. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Donna Lynn (Stewart) Turnbull, Stellarton; his children: Denise(Tom), Edmonton; Nicole(Bob), Little Harbour Road, New Glasgow; grandchildren: Katelyn(Matt), Edmonton; James(Brittany), Marshdale; Connor, Westville; great-grandchildren: Gabriella, Addison and Hunter, sisters: Mary Moore, Stellarton; Marjorie(Buddy), New Glasgow; brothers: Ronald(Eileen), New Glasgow; Raymond “Sam”(Leona), Stellarton; sister-in-law Doris Turnbull, Pictou; many nieces, nephews, great-neices, great-nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Elsie, brothers: Jim, John, Douglas and Harold. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8pm Friday at the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton. A Memorial Service will be held 2pm Saturday from the First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton with Rev. Charles McPherson presiding. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial of ashes at a later date in the Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow. Family flowers only.
