Darlene Blackburn

Darlene Blackburn
BLACKBURN, Darlene Glace Bay It is with a heavy heart we announce the sudden passing of Darlene Blackburn on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Darlene was the glue of the family who always lit the room up with her energy. She loved nothing more than dancing in the kitchen with her granddaughter Scarlett, she was her pride and joy. She spent every second talking about her! Her love for her husband, Dave, could be seen for miles and heard when she was ordering him around. Her daughter, Sarah, was her best friend and adventure buddy. They loved nothing more than hopping in the car and getting up to no good. Darlene had four younger brothers and many aunts who were her sisters. She is survived by her husband, David Blackburn; daughter, Sarah Blackburn; granddaughter, Scarlett Blackburn; brothers, Leo Popwell, Gerry Popwell, Darrell Popwell, Kevin Popwell. She was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Vera (Murphy) Popwell. Visitation will be held Monday, October 7, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will take place 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2019 with Fr. Duanie Devereaux officiating all taking place T.J.
