Funeral service for the late Daniel Bartholomew ‘Danny Boy’ Sampson, 78, Louisdale, formerly of St. Peter’s, was held December 1 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Peter’s, with Father Antolin Asor officiating. Burial was in St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Mr. Sampson died November 25, 2018, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born January 7, 1940, in Sampsonville, he was a son of the late Leo J. and Irene (Sampson) Sampson. He worked for many years as the manager of Canadian Tire in Port Hastings and then at the St. John Shipyards. He and his wife spent many years in Truro as live-in home care. He enjoyed time spent with his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beulah Ann (Keating) Sampson; daughter, Lian Parsons (Todd), Whiteside; three sons, Ross Sampson (Ramonda), St. Peter’s; Aaron Sampson, Digby; Dalton Sampson, Halifax; six grandchildren, Kayla Sampson, Savannah Burke, Daniel and Derrick Sampson, Bennett and Lindan Parsons; two great-grandchildren, Kendrick and Ivy Duguid; three brothers, Cyril (Kay) Halifax; Leo Amadee (Carol) Liverpool; John, Ontario; two sisters, Agnes Campbell, St. Peter’s, Barbara Kendall (Bob) North Sydney; brother-in-law, Morton McGrath, Louisdale; two sisters-in-law, Kay Sampson, Halifax; Irene Sampson, Weymouth. He was predeceased by brothers, Cyril, in infancy, Edwin (Helen), Stan, David (Eula), Oswald; three sisters, Catherine (Melvin) Van Horne, Cecilia (Godfrey) Patterson, Rita (Elias) Landry; brother-in-law, Dan Campbell.
