Charles Joseph Alexander Steele

Funeral service for the late Charles Joseph Alexander Steele, 54, New Brunswick, formerly of Port Hawkesbury, was held July 10 in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury, with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Mr. Steele died July 1, 2018, at home. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of Joseph and Alexis (MacDonald) Steele, Port Hawkesbury. He was a free spirit, who enjoyed the outdoors; sitting by the fire, fishing or trailing with his friends. He had a great sense of humor and always had a smile or a friendly word for the people he met. He was happiest when spending time with his two best friends, his son, Tyler and granddaughter, Victoria. He was multitalented and master to anything that involved working with his hands. He worked as a painter and body man until he joined Local 682, Sydney, and later Local 179, Saskatchewan, where he worked as a welder out West. He is survived by his wife, Darlene (Kyle), New Brunswick; son, Tyler, Dominion; two step-children, Hayley, Jason, New Brunswick; three grandchildren, Victoria, Campbell, Caden; daughter, Sonya; two brothers, Paul, Saskatchewan; Vince (Amanda), Sugarcamp; many nieces and nephews.
