C.E. 'Girlie' Delorey

Funeral service for the late Charlotte Elizabeth ‘Girlie’ Delorey, 94, Tracadie, was held June 1 in St. Peter’s Church, Tracadie, with Father John Barry officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Delorey died May 28, 2018, in Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Readers at the funeral Mass were Rita Temple and Rose O’Connor. Music was provided by organist Lisa Morrow-DeCoste and St. Peter’s Parish choir. Pallbearers were Charles Fraser, Jacob DeGruchy, Luke DeGruchy, Jeff McCoul, James Kennedy and Gerard Pettipas. Born August 14, 1923, in Tracadie, she was a daughter of the late Michael Thomas and Mary Lucy S. (Delorey) Pettipas. She was a lifelong resident of Tracadie, NS. She is survived by daughter, Patricia Fraser, Port Hawkesbury; two sons, William (Hilda Myette), Tracadie; Hurley, Antigonish; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; adopted brother, Charles Halloran, South River, Ontario; sister-in–law, Rita Delorey, Tracadie; many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and the USA. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Paul Delorey; daughter, Elaine Myette; brother, William Michael Pettipas; two sons-in-law, Sampson Myette, Robert Fraser; sister-in-law, Margaret Pettipas.
