MEATING, Carole Ann North Sydney It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Carole Ann Meating, age 75, on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, following a brief illness. Born in North Sydney, November 6, 1943, Carole Ann was the daughter of the late Abraham and Anna (Cantwell) Naddaf. She graduated from the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing in 1962. She retired from nursing in 1970 to raise her family which was her true passion. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. Carole is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, RCMP Staff Sargent Blair Robert Meating; her daughters, Sheri (Dale) Trefry, Yarmouth, Lori Ann Meating, North Sydney, Carole Lynn (Stephen) Elgin, Ottawa; her precious son, Stephen (Jessica) Meating, Ottawa; her ten grandchildren whom she treasured with all her heart, Michael, Joshua, Andrea, Matthew, Jenny, Sydney, Jacob and Connor, Laura and Kristen Trefry; three great-grandchildren, Autumn, Evelyn and Rowan; her little ‘Rowboat’. Also surviving are sisters, Maureen Serroul, Bras d’Or, Linda Mizzi, Sault Ste Marie, Paula Naddaf, Montreal, Nancy Naddaf, Toronto; brothers, Kevin Naddaf (Hugh Wakeham), Palm Springs, Gerard Naddaf, Alliston, ON, also by a number of nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Carole was predeceased by her beloved brother, Paul Naddaf in 1999 and he will be there to greet and guide her through this next journey. A very special thank you to Mom and Dad’s best friends Brenda and Tommy Jeffries, for their love and support during this very difficult time and for their friendship and love over the past 23 years. Visitation for Carole will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A Prayer service will be held during the visitation.
