It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our brother and uncle, Lawrence Bruce Boutilier, age 60, on Monday, February 11, 2019, at his home. Born in Sydney on August 27, 1958, Bruce was the son of the late Lawrence and Catherine (Cummings) Boutilier. Bruce was employed as an electrician, his most recent job was at the Bruce Power Plant in Port Elgin, Ontario. He enjoyed the outdoors, riding the trials on his all-terrain vehicle with his friends, he also enjoyed playing tarabish and listening to his album collection of music from the 60’s and 70’s. Bruce is survived by his sister, Valerie (Myles) Ross, North Sydney; a niece, Catherine (Luc), Grand Bay-Westfield, NB; two nephews, Jeremy (Tracey), Dartmouth, Matthew (Melissa), Quebec; grandnephew, Spencer, five grandnieces, Kate, Lucy, Lia, Lena and Nora, also surviving is an aunt Agnes Currie and by close friends Mary MacNeil and Albert Hill. Bruce was predeceased by his mother, Catherine Boutilier and by his father, Lawrence Boutilier who passed February 2, 2019. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Osteoporosis Society or to a charity of choice.
