Brenda Myers (Barnes) of Riverview, NB, born September 30, 1954, formerly from North Sydney, NS, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at The Moncton Hospital surrounded with family and friends. Brenda is survived by her devoted husband, Will Myers; her daughter, Joanna Champion; sons, Neil Myers (Petra) and Paul Myers; mother, Rhoda Barnes; brothers, Levi Barnes (Peggy), Richard Barnes (Wendy) and Eric Barnes (Carla); grandsons, Nathan and Zen; nieces, Barbara, Elaine, Tracy, Tara, Deanna, and nephews, Michael and Cory. She was pre-deceased by her father, George Barnes from North Sydney; son, Kevin Myers, and grandson, Malachai Ray. Brenda spent her career working for Marine Atlantic, North Sydney and then for CN Marine/CN Rail in Moncton where she met her loving husband Will. Brenda cared passionately about helping her community and was one of the founding members of the Moncton Celiac Association where she served on the national board for many years. She was a leader in creating the Annual Greater Moncton Gluten Free Fair. Brenda was an active member in the Moncton Wesleyan Church. A selfless caregiver, she will be remembered for her generous heart, and will be cherished by everyone that had the honour of having her in their lives. Her loving nature and beautiful smile will be remembered always. Visitation hours at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (506-858-1995) on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. A Service to celebrate and honour Brenda’s life will be held at The Moncton Wesleyan Church Life Center, 945 St. George Blvd., Moncton, on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Way leading the service. A reception will follow in the Church Atrium. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery. In memory of Brenda, donations to the Celiac Association, Canadian Cancer Society or Harvest House would be appreciated.
