Bonnie Darlene Westaway

WESTAWAY, Bonnie Darlene Bonnie Darlene Westaway, age 64, of the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou and formerly of New Glasgow, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019. Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of Iona (Donaldson) Smith, of the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, and the late Charles Smith. Bonnie was friendly, caring and outgoing and had a good sense of humor. She treasured her grandchildren and time spent with her family. She loved Christmas, Rock and Roll Music, animals, teddy bears, shopping, bingo, anything sparkly and getting “dolled up”. She is survived by daughters, Lila Westaway, Caledonia, Leah (Jamie Miller), New Glasgow; grandchildren, Dakota, Grace, George and Carson; brother, Greg, Stellarton; nephews, Mike (Felicia), Zak; former husband, Kevin. She was predeceased by brothers, Wayne and Oral; sister, Cheryl; nephew, Joey. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. A private graveside service will be held in Gladstone Cemetery with Mr. Fergie MacKay officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the N.S. Lung Association.
