Bertha (Buffett) Battiste

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Bertha Battiste, age 85, on April 10, 2019, while surrounded by family in Dartmouth General Hospital. Bertha was born on April 6, 1934, in Neil’s Harbour, Cape Breton to the late Luke and Susan (Warren) Buffett. She will be greatly missed by her children, Debbie, David (Darlene), Stella, Kim (Kevin), Trevor; as well as her 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Bertha is also survived by her sister, Mary MacDonald, Dartmouth and her brother Jim, Hamilton Ont. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry; sisters, Martha, Tryphena, Grace; her brothers, Robert, Hector, Russell and Leslie. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service was held in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NS Brain Injury Association or the Dartmouth General Foundation (Palliative Care). The family would like to extend a very warm thank you to the nurses and doctors of 3 West for the wonderful care provided. She will be forever missed.
