Bernice (Doucet) Theriault — Yarmouth

THERIAULT, Bernice Marie (Doucet) – age 93, Robert’s Island, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 2, 1925 in Lower Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late Jean Lévi and Cécile (Doucet) Doucet. Bernice worked as a caregiver to disabled children and in her spare time she enjoyed cooking, gardening, crafting, knitting and curling up with a good book. She is survived by her children, Linda (Rene) Pepin and Daniel Theriault (Sharon De Souza), both of Calgary; Robert Theriault (Juanita Bruneau), Sluice Point and Gloria (Daniel) Pepin, Robert’s Island, as well as by her grandchildren, Dee Williams, Chris Pepin, Heidi Theriault, Jaret Theriault, Jolan Theriault and Liam Pepin, along with seven great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Irene (John) Pauzé, Wedgeport and a brother, Leonard Doucet, Hubbard’s Point. Aside from her parents, Bernice was predeceased by her loving husband, Paul Emile Theriault, and by siblings Charles Henri Doucet, Rita (Doucet) LaPointe, Anne Doucet, Charles William Doucet and Francis Doucet. There was no visitation by request. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. from Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Albéni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Bernice may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
