Art Publicover

Art Publicover
We the family of Art Publicover are sad to announce his sudden passing on Monday, January 7, 2019, at the age of 59. Born in Halifax on September 22, 1959, he was the son of the late Harry and Shirley (Truman) Publicover of Peggy’s Cove. After marrying the love of his life, Roberta (Susie) (Hancock), they decided to move home to Cape Breton to be with his children, Cora Lee (Jason) and Ann Marie (Colin), and his grandchildren, Marissa, Jordan and Amelia, his pride and joy. Art worked for over 30 years with the school board in Halifax. After retiring, Art and Susie moved back to Cape Breton to be with their families. He loved to play baseball and drive his motorcycle. Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Art loved him. He was like a big teddy bear, always there for a hug or handshake, no matter how often you saw him. Art will be missed by all. He also leaves behind his sister, Marie (Clyde); brother, Leslie (Cindy), both of Peggy’s Cove; mother and father-in-law, Marion (Hancock) and Edward Clarke; special aunt and uncle, Goldie and Rodney; special friends, Gail and Blaine Morash; many nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. Besides his parents, Art was predeceased by his son, Eddie. Visitation for Art Publicover will be held Friday, January 11, 2019, from 2-3 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of his life will take place at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
