Ann Marie MacNeil-Landry
Funeral service for the late Ann Marie MacNeil-Landry, 75, River Bourgeois, was held November 15 in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, with Father John Yake officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. MacNeil-Landry died November 11, 2018, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston.
Born January 4, 1943, in Inverness, she was a daughter of the late, John ‘Jack’ and Mary (MacKenzie) MacNeil. She graduated from Holy Family High School, Inverness, and Dalhousie University. She taught for more than 30 years in various communities around Cape Breton Island, including Bay St. Lawrence, Ingonish. She finished her career as a math and chemistry teacher at St. Peter’s District High School. She was a devoted parishioner of St. John the Baptist in River Bourgeois.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie, two stepchildren, Henry (Vicki), California; Derrick, Ottawa; three step-grandchildren; four brothers, Francis, Inverness; Paul (Anne Marie), Shediac, New Brunswick; John (Joanne), North Sydney; Jim (Edna), Milton, Ontario; two sisters, Eileen Delaney, Inverness; Andrea Oulton, Halifax; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane MacNeil, Halifax; Vicki MacNeil, Inverness; brother-in-law, George (Cathy) Landry; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Ron, Gerard, Dan; sister, Peggy; two sisters-in-law, Viola, Denise.
Memorial donations may be made to Strait Richmond Hospital Foundation or to a bursary fund in her memory.
