Private burial of the late Aloysius Berard ‘Al’ Fougère, 75, Port Hawkesbury, will be held at a later date. Mr. Fougere died April 12, 2019, at home. He was a son of the late Edmund and Imelda (Corbett) Fougère. He was a teacher and graduated from the Nova Scotia Teacher’s College in Truro and St. F. X. University. His passion in teaching was music. As an accomplished musician, he excelled as a vocalist and keyboardist (piano and organ). For many years he was the organist/choir director for St. David’s, St. Mark’s United Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by his partner, Dennis MacDonald; two sisters, Isabel, Halifax; Bernadette (Lloyd) MacDonald, Port Hawkesbury; brother, Ronnie (Anne-Marie), Truro; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Edward Michael, in infancy.
