It is with broken hearts that the family announces the passing of their loved one on June 1, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with his loving family constantly by his side. Allan is the son of the late Putus Simon and Cecelia (Paul) Marshall of Membertou. Allan was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union, Local 83; certified as a Red Seal Carpenter. He was employed by the Membertou Band Council in the Housing Department and was a member of the Membertou 55plus Society. He had a great passion for music and karaoke and was an avid sports fan and in his early years played hockey and baseball. He was Montreal Canadiens number one fan. Allan also loved travelling, camping, washer toss and bowling. For all who knew him, he was a pillar of the community and known for his work ethic and great sense of humor. Left to mourn are his daughters, Alana and Laurie (Gabe Dellorusso); his grandchildren, Alisha, Allan, Amber, Carley and Corey; his great-grandchildren, Sadie, Maiya and soon to arrive baby, Adalynn; his brother, Jacob (Kathleen) Marshall; Allan’s companion, Judy MacGibbon; his godchildren, David Marshall, Lance Paul, Paul Marshall and a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides his parents, Allan was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Dolly) Seury-Marshall and by his sister, Anna Marie Marshall. At Allan’s request cremation has taken place and visitation will be on Wednesday June 6, 2018 at Chant’s Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys with Fr. Burke officiating. Interment at Membertou Memorial Gardens followed by the Salite at the Membertou Entertainment Center. Forever remembered in our hearts Allan “Monday”
