Allan Conn

Allan Conn
CONN, Allan We, the family of Allan Joseph Conn, regret to announce his passing on Friday, August 16, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born August 22, 1955, in Sydney, he was the son of the late Joseph “Jeff” and Mary Eileen (Boudreau) Conn. Allan was many things. A steel worker, a flooring installer, a member of the laborer’s union and a bartender at the Ashby Legion, Branch 138 where he was also a member. Allan loved to have a good time with friends, was a fan of the Leafs and Blue Jays, and also loved music. He was a ball coach and really knew his way around a guitar. He was loved by all and made friends wherever he went, even up until his last days at the Palliative Unit where he was fortunate enough to meet some thoughtful and caring people who truly helped in the ease of his passing. Not the least was his, now, best buddy Mary Ruth. He is survived by his son, Michael (Samantha Gentile), Sydney; sisters, Patsy (Ronald) Dawson, Hamilton, Judy Conn (Allan), Glace Bay and Crista (Johnny) Currie, MacAdam’s Lake; brother, Dennis, Mississauga; half-brother, Kevin O'Brien and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister-in-law Charlene. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 19 from 1-3 p.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 3 p.m., with Mr. Gary Grant officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or the An Cala Palliative Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
