Alex Hugh MacInnis
Funeral service for the late Alex Hugh MacInnis, 83, Kingsville, Inverness County, was held September 29 in St. Mary’s of the Angels Church, Glendale.
Mr. MacInnis died September 25, 2018, in Strait Richmond Hospital.
Born September 8, 1935, in Maple Brook, he was a son of the late Dan Archie and Sarah (Sadie Lamey) MacInnis. He was a gentle spoken man of great faith. He was a hard-working man, happiest while working outdoors. He was passionate about genealogy and held a wealth of knowledge on the subject, especially when it came to his Scottish roots. He enjoyed fiddle music and was a dog lover. He enjoyed gardening, his time in the woods and political debates.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rebecca (MacNeil); six daughters, Mary Pat (David) Ellig, Margie (Roger) Harrison, Cathy (Michael) MacInnis, Murreen (Joe) Simms, Cecilia (Robert) Bell, Mary Anne (Brian) MacIntyre; three sons, Dannie (Sheila), Donnie (Nancy), Sandy (Brenda); 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; his MacNeil family.
He was predeceased by three brothers, John Dan, John Leo, Leo, in infancy; two grandsons, Morgan and Logan MacIntyre.
Memorial donations may be made to the Glendale hall or cemetery fund.
