ALEX CHISHOLM

Alex Chisholm

Funeral service for the late Alexander ‘Alex’ [‘the priest’] MacDonald Chisholm, 75, was held September 10 in St. Ninian Cathedral, Antigonish, with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating, assisted by Father Elliott O’Neal and Father Bernard MacAdam.

Mr. Chisholm died September 5, 2019.

Readers at the funeral Mass were Kyle Fraser and Donna MacPhie. Music was provided by choir director and organist Emery Van de Wiel, St. Ninian Choir, soloist Margaret MacGregor MacDonald and violinist John Pellerin.

Active pallbearers were Shawn Chisholm, Sandy Stewart, Wes Anstey, Albie Falkenham, Marc MacMullin and Barry MacMaster.

Music was a life-long passion, whether singing in the senior choir of St. Ninian Cathedral or immersing himself in traditional Celtic music.

He is survived by his wife, Marion Anne (née Anstey, MacPhie); two daughters, Mary Elizabeth (Kyle), Terri (Rick); son, Paul (Angela); three step-daughters, Patti (Rich), Donna and Dale (Marc); four grandchildren, Ridley Chisholm, Kieran and Brenna Nott, Isabella MacMullin; four  siblings, Sheldon, John, Michael and Sharon Hickey.
