Aleta Alice Mitton (Macaloney) — Lower Sackville

Aleta Alice Mitton (Macaloney)
Age 73 years of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully, October 12, 2018 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Arthur MacAloney and Peggy (Yorke MacAloney) Bent. Aleta retired from Capital Health in 2010 after 21 years with food services department, first at the Victoria General Hospital and later at the Veterans Memorial Building. As an active member of Stone Ridge Fellowship Baptist Church, she served with the Awana Program, hospitality alongside ministries and was first in line to sign up for all the senior's activities. A long-time member of the Friends of Ivy Meadows Residents Society (formerly Friends of Scotia Nursing Home) she helped raise funds to purchase and operate two wheelchair-assessable buses so Beaver Bank residents were able to get out and enjoy community events. Along with her Diva Friends, Aleta led a very happy, productive life and her love and faith in the Lord guided her through the bumps in the road. Aleta is survived by son, Roy (Tiffany), Red Deer; grandsons, Roydon, MacKenzie and Theophilos; granddaughter, Grace; brothers, Jack (Joy), Dartmouth; Larry Bent, British Columbia; sisters, Aneta (Lorne) Lively, Beaver Bank; Shona Lachance, Halifax; 13 nieces and nephews; and 17 grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roydon; brothers, Terry and Donnie MacAloney as well as James in infancy; and special friend, Blair Cody. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 18th in Stone Ridge Fellowship Church, 85 Temple Terr., Lower Sackville, with reception to follow. Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke, and reception will follow at 1`42 Kitchener St., Stewiacke, all are welcome. Family flowers only by request.
