Single-vehicle crash claims man’s life on Cobequid Pass

RCMP responded to a crash on the Cobequid Pass early Nov. 1 that claimed the life of a 54-year-old New Brunswick man.

WESTCHESTER, N.S. – A 54-year-old man from Haute Aboujagane, N.B. is dead following a single-vehicle crash early Nov. 1 on the Cobequid Pass west of the toll plaza just inside the Cumberland County line.

The crash occurred at 7:37 a.m. in the eastbound lane of the highway.

The truck was occupied by the driver, who was in critical condition when found in the overturned truck by another motorist. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but died later in the afternoon.

Cumberland RCMP is continuing its investigation. An RCMP collision analyst was called to the scene and the highway was closed for several hours.
