DIGBY/ANNAPOLIS – The Nova Scotia Health Authority is advising the public of emergency department closures in Digby and Annapolis counties.
The Digby General Hospital’s Emergency Department will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Dec. 3 it was closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Limited physician availablity was listed as the reason for both closures.
The Annapolis Community Health Centre’s Collaborative Emergency Centre (CEC) will also be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 4, The hours of the closure are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. This is due to limited physician availability.
Those experiencing a medical emergency should always call 911 says the health authority. General health concerns can be directed to 811, where health advice and information are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by registered nurses. The Mental Health Crisis Line can also be reached 24/7 by calling 1-888-429-8167.
