TIVERTON, DIGBY COUNTY, N.S. – Digby RCMP have charged two youth following an investigation in to an arson in October 2017.
On Oct. 5, Digby RCMP and the Tiverton Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Highway 217 in Tiverton. That fire was to an abandoned property that was once a home. It was completely destroyed, says Const. Colin Helm.
After an extensive police investigation, two youths have been charged with arson. Both youth were released from police custody and will appear in Digby Provincial Youth Court on March 13 at 9:30 a.m. Their ages are not being released.
Meanwhile, Digby RCMP continue to investigate another suspicious fire at a structure on Highway 217 in Tiverton. This fire took place on Jan. 5. Const. Helm says it was a cabin. The Nova Scotia Fire Marshal Office is assisting Digby RCMP with this investigation.
