NEW MINAS, N.S. — The RCMP has confirmed in a news release that the body recovered from the Cornwallis River in New Minas on May 16 is that of a missing Kentville man.
Police recovered human remains from the river, in the vicinity of the end of Jones Road, on May 16. A man reported seeing a body in the Cornwallis River just after 10 a.m.
The missing man, 29-year-old Joshawa Bentley, was last seen in Kentville on March 23 and he was reported missing on March 24.
The Kings District RCMP was assisted in the investigation by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service and the Kentville Police Service. Police and the medical examiner have determined that the cause of death was not suspicious in nature.
