LIVERPOOL - Soon, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph will be flying through the night sky pulling Santa’s sleigh.
The Advance decided to head to Dr. John C. Wickwire Academy in Liverpool to speak with the Christmas experts in Tracey Duffney’s Grade Primary classroom. The 19 students in that class may just have the answers as to why Rudolph’s nose is red.
A few students are pretty certain Rudolph’s nose is red because he’s a reindeer, while Oliver MacVicar says Rudolph’s nose is red because he’s cold. But Emma Vaughn is pretty sure Rudolph dipped his nose in paint and that’s why it’s red.

Tiberius Brown: “Because he’s a reindeer.”
Gabriel Daury: “Because Christmas is red.”
Amelia Foley: “Because he’s little.”
Finn Folvic-MacPherson: “Because he’s a reindeer.”
Chase Fralic: “So he can lead all the other reindeer.”
Tristin Johnson: “Because he’s little.”
Oliver MacVicar: “He’s cold.”
Gracelynn MacLeod: “So he can see to drop presents in the chimney.”
Nolan Morash: “Because his name is Rudolph.”
Colten Nowe: “Because he’s Rudolph.”
Carter Oickle: “It helps him see when he flies at night.”
Hunter Oickle: “Because it lights up.”
Joseph Rasley: “He was born with a red nose.”
Killian Spencer: “It’s because he has to wear a red nose.”
Bentley Swindell: “It’s red because his body’s brown. He has different colours.”
Von Thomaes: “To help Santa see.”
Emma Vaughn: “Because he dipped it in paint.”
Destiny Wolfe-Wentzell: “Because it’s Christmas.”
