BERWICK, N.S. — The Valley is alive with the sound of music, with bands that will play every week.

Kingston or Berwick, take your pick - either will be offering free concerts for the rest of the summer.

Shows occur once a week from now until Sept. 5 and begin at 7 p.m. for an hour in Centennial Park.

Berwick’s community development intern, Maddy Perry, says the weekly concerts are a great way to get out into the community and enjoy some free live music.

“There’s going to be a bunch of different bands all with their own tone. There’s going to be some pop, folk, country - just a mix of everything.”

A full list of performers and dates can be found on the town of Berwick’s Facebook page.

Concerts are also being held in the Village of Kingston on five days throughout the summer. Further details on those events can be found on the Village of Kingston’s website or their Facebook page.

Glen Abriel, the recreation co-ordinator for the Village of Kingston, says there will be something for everyone this summer.

“Throughout the month of July, the Thursday concerts take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Sunday concerts are from 2 to 3:30 p.m. On Thursday, July 18th, we have Lost Vegas performing with Vinny O’Reilly and Julie Beals, the 21st will have Mark Roberts, the 25th will feature the Julie Boudreau Trio, and Bob Deveau & the Hi-Lites play on July 28th,” Abriel says.

Support your local artists or discover a new favourite singer at one of the many free concerts across the Valley this summer.
