BERWICK, N.S. — The Town of Berwick got a blast from the past July 10 when dozens of antique cars and trucks could be seen out and about.

Owners of antique autos were giving rides and demonstrations to anyone interested at the event preceding the annual Apple Capital Evening Drive.

Kicking off at 5:30 p.m. at the Berwick Visitor Information Centre and museum, the public event went on for two hours, giving plenty the chance to go for a ride.

Those who were able took advantage of the great weather and took the tops off their convertibles. Drivers frequently showed off their old-fashioned horns, letting off a distinctive honk honk, which never failed to get a few giggles.

Earlier that afternoon, the automobiles made a stop at the Grand View Manor continuing care community. Residents had the chance to see the antiques up close and ride the loop around the property. The staff and drivers were very accommodating and offered as many rides as possible.

Some of the older passengers had seen these cars when they were still considered modern. Each car had its own unique features that contributed to the evolution of modern automobiles.
