WINDSOR, NS - A Windsor man facing charges of aggravated sexual assault, administering a stupefying drug with intent to enable him to commit sexual assault and other charges remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
Myles Walter Card, 24, appeared in Windsor provincial court in custody on Nov. 14. Reading of the 14 charges was waived and the court imposed a publication ban to protect the identities of the alleged victims.
The matters were adjourned to Dec. 5 for a bail hearing and election and plea. The accused has consented to being remanded in custody until his next court date.
Card is charged with two counts of endangering the life of a person in committing a sexual assault, thereby committing an aggravated sexual assault; two counts of sexual touching involving a person under the age of 16; two counts of invitation to sexual touching involving a person under age 16; two counts of administering a stupefying drug with intent to assist him to commit sexual assault; possessing cannabis for the purpose of trafficking; two counts of luring a person under age 18 for a sexual purpose; trafficking in a substance held out to be cannabis; administering a noxious substance – laced marijuana – with intent to aggrieve a person and failing to comply with a condition of his probation, to abstain from the use and possession of non-prescribed drugs.
It’s alleged that Card committed the offences in Windsor between Aug. 15 and Nov. 8 and on Nov. 10. The charges have not been proven in court.
Card was in the news two years ago when he and a co-accused, his roommate, faced several pimping-related charges. Card pleaded guilty on Oct. 30, 2015, to a charge of keeping a common bawdy house.
He was sentenced to one day in custody deemed served and nine months of probation and was fined $200 in victim surcharges.
