Weekend emergency department closures at Middleton hospital

MIDDLETON, N.S. — Soldiers Memorial Hospital’s emergency department will be closed from 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24 until Sunday, Aug. 25, at 8 a.m. and from 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 25 until Monday, Aug. 26, at 8 a.m. 

The closures are due to lack of physician coverage, Nova Scotia Health Authority said.

They advised that if you have an emergency, call 911 or visit the nearest open emergency department.

For non-emergency health advice from a registered nurse, please call 811.

The Mental Health Crisis Line operates 24/7 at 1-888-429-8167.
