WINDSOR, N.S. — Search efforts to find Tim Wells, a man who has been missing since 2018, have been postponed until later this month.
Due to the recent blast of winter weather, the RCMP are reporting that in consultation with West Hants Ground Search and Rescue, the planned search of Falmouth and downtown Windsor, near Nesbitt Street, will need to be rescheduled.
In email correspondence from the Windsor RCMP, the reasoning is because the snow cover on the ground will cause a “marked decrease in the probability of detection.”
The search, which will involve upwards of 70 trained volunteers, will be held April 27-28 instead of April 13-14.
Wells was reported missing May 12, 2018. Initial reports put his last known whereabouts being near Card Lake around suppertime, but new eye-witness reports surfaced this year indicating he was last seen at noon on Nesbitt Street. Wells, who had insulin-dependant diabetes and took medication for a mental illness, was last seen riding his purple mountain bike and wearing an orange helmet. Neither item has been found.
