WINDSOR, N.S. – Several communities are without power today across Hants, Annapolis and Kings counties as gusts of winds barraged power lines.

Communities along the Hants Shore, the Martock area, parts of Falmouth in Hants County as well as the Grand Pré area, Centreville and more in Kings County were impacted, with various communities surrounding Middleton also found themselves without power.

On Nova Scotia Power’s Outage Centre map – most of the outages are listed as “under investigation,” with restoration times mostly slated between noon and 2 p.m. today.

Weather forecasts slated wind speeds gusting between 50 and 70 kilometres an hour.

Approximately 18,000 people were without power as of 11 a.m. To view the outage map, click here

Some schools in the Annapolis Valley are also being dismissed early due to power outages, they're listed below - 

Hantsport School - early dismissal at 12:30 p.m. 

LE Shaw Elementary - early dismissal at 12:25 p.m.
