WINDSOR, N.S. - On September 24, Windsor District RCMP responded to a break and enter at a service station between 100 and 200 Wentworth Road in Windsor.

According to a press release, the suspects cut the lines to the alarm on the building and entered the front door of the store at 12:55 a.m.

Once inside the store, the suspects cut all telephone lines and cords connected to the security cameras.

The security system itself was also damaged, and the suspects took part of the system with them.

Several cartons of cigarettes were stolen, and the safe was removed from the store as well. It was left in the parking lot next to the fuel pumps.

Cpl. Jennifer Clarke, media relations officer with the RCMP said the robbery was unusual compared to the calls they usually receive.

“That level of damage both inside and outside the building was unusual,” she said. “We have seen lines being cut outside before, but never so much inside.”

Clarke said the total cost of the damages and stolen items is unknown at this time.

Police believe a dark coloured minivan or similar vehicle was used by the suspects.

It’s not known how man suspects were involved either, Clarke said.

“We’re looking at surveillance video from neighbouring businesses to try to help us out.”
