BRIDGETOWN, N.S. — March 4, 2019
Lawrencetown – RCMP received a call about two white horses on the road. Members responded and could not find the white horses or any colour horses for that matter.
March 5, 2019
Bear River – A break-and-enter into a home was reported. The front door, as well as the basement door, was damaged. The perpetrator appeared to be “picky” on what he/she took as the only things missing were two guitars. RCMP are requesting the public with any information on this wayward wandering minstrel, to please contact the Annapolis District RCMP.
Middleton – Cheques were stolen from a desk at the Bruce Chev dealership. The investigation is ongoing and RCMP are cautioning the business community and general public to be wary if one encounters such cheques being passed out.
March 6, 2019
North Williamston – An auto shop was broken into over night and several inspections books were taken. In addition, a Snap-on tool for reading vehicle codes is missing. Please contact the Annapolis District RCMP with any information on this crime.
Middleton – A suspicious male was seen walking on the road and attempting to get into vehicles. The suspect was described as an older gentlemen wearing a red coat and using a walker. Members made patrols but the man was not located.
Carleton Corner – Reports of a possible impaired driver were called in. A green ford F 150 was swerving all over the road. The vehicle and driver were located but the driver was not impaired. The officers warned him about his driving habits.
March 7, 2019
Centrelea – A vehicle was reported stuck in the ditch. The caller stated this was the vehicle that has been doing ‘burn outs’ in the area. RCMP made a patrol, located the vehicle, and had a frank discussion with the owner.
Middleton – A backpack was found in Tim Horton’s. The officer picked up the backpack and found items in the bag and was able to locate the owner. The backpack and the owner have now been reunited.
March 8, 2019
Middleton – International Women’s Day was celebrated. Female students from Lawrencetown Education Centre, West Kings, Annapolis West Education Centre, and Middleton Regional High School participated in a snowshoe challenge of five kilometres up the mountain at Twin Oaks. Const. Cheryl Ponee, School Safety Officer, also participated in the challenge with the girls which resulted in a challenging but very empowering day!
Middleton – An employee of Foodland reported a male harassing the customers in the parking lot for money and cigarettes. The officer made a patrol and located the male and suggested he take a break.
March 9, 2019
Middleton – A Subway employee reported that an older man was there taking pictures of their surveillance cameras. Here’s the kicker, the subject was identified through video surveillance.
Middleton – There was a report of someone vandalizing the outside wall of the washroom at the Rotary Park. The walls were spray painted. The spray paint has now been covered up and the RCMP are requesting that if the public has any info on this incident, to contact the Annapolis District RCMP.
Bridgetown – A employee from Mountain Lea Lodge reported receiving a package for one of their residents. A strong ‘skunky’ smell was coming from within. While packages being delivered to residents are not uncommon, receiving a package with six joints wrapped in tissue is an anomaly! Apparently, it was a gift from the resident’s niece, a kind gesture but illegal nevertheless.
Nictaux – A 911 call was received about a possibly impaired driver. The caller stated a blue Infiniti was parked facing the wrong way on the corner of the 201 Highway. The officers located the vehicle and the driver inside it. The driver was sound asleep and the officers had to wake him up. Roadside tests were done by the officers and determined the driver was not impaired… just tired. The officers requested he move his vehicle to a safer location.
Mountie Memo – RCMP are reminding the public to drive with due care and attention on the roads. With the drastic weather changes from below freezing to above zero temperatures, icy road conditions are a problem in many areas.
