MIDDLETON - A case of road rage in Wilmot, lost keys, speeding, and seat belt infractions kept Annapolis District RCMP busy from Oct. 23 to 30.
Plus there were the young pumpkin perpetrators, a town truck vandalized, break-ins, an assault charge, and a stolen wallet. And a lost and then found wallet.
Police answered numerous calls resulting in 145 reports to be filled out and a number of ongoing investigations.
Following are the highlights:

-- Oct. 23 at 3:27 p.m. at Nictaux West. A person dropped off a large set of keys at the Middleton RCMP detachment. The keys were found on Highway 201 in Nictaux. The key chain had a post office key on it and with the assistance of Canada Post police were able to identify the owner and re-unite them with their keys.
-- Oct. 24 at 1:32 a.m. at Middleton. Police have charged a 25-year-old man with driving a motor vehicle without liability insurance. If found guilty the driver will pay a fine of $1,272.50.
-- Oct. 24 at 1:25 p.m. at Middleton. Police have charged a 54-year-old woman for not wearing her seat belt. If found guilty she will pay a fine of $180. Police warned and/or fined six other motorist with seat belt violations that same afternoon. In addition police ticketed two other motorists for seat belt violations during the week.
-- Oct. 25 at 7:40 a.m. at Waldec. Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on the Mary Jane Riley Road. A 21-year-old man has been charged and if found guilty will pay a fine of $237.50. Police warned or charged 30 other motorists with speeding violations during the week in Annapolis County.
-- Oct. 25 at 10:15 a.m. at Middleton. Police received a complaint of mischief. The Town of Middleton reported that one of their water trucks was vandalized. Someone had written the word ‘thief’ with spray paint on both sides of the vehicle and all four tires were slashed. The incident is under investigation.
-- Oct. 26 at 5:56 a.m. at Wilmot. Police received a 911 call concerning road rage. A man in a charcoal grey Toyota was reportedly speeding on Highway 1 and tried to pass a tractor-trailer on the inside lane. The Toyota was forced to stop and its driver got out of the vehicle and started yelling at the driver of the truck. He punched the passenger side mirror as he tried to get into the truck. He then kicked the front of the semi and left. The Toyota was later located by Kings County RCMP. It was abandoned. There was no registration or ownership coming back to the vehicle which has been seized. The investigation continues.
-- Oct. 26 at 3:15 p.m. at Lequille. Police were called to a complaint of a break-and-enter into a residence on Highway 8. The complainant reported that their home was broken into and a TV and laptop stolen. Police have started an investigation.
-- Oct. 26 at 2:49 p.m. at Middleton. Police responded to the theft of a wallet. The theft took place at a business in Middleton on the previous day. The person’s debit card was used three times. Police have a suspect and will be investigating further.
-- Oct. 26 at 5:28 p.m. at Port George. Police were called to an incident were the remains of a dog were located on the beach at Cottage Cove. It appears the remains had been in the water and there was extensive decay. Animal Control was contacted in the event that someone called to report a missing dog. There was also speculation the animal could be coyote.
-- Oct. 27 at 7:31 a.m. at Tupperville. Police were called to a single-vehicle crash. The car hit a deer. The 35-year-old man driving the car was not injured. The vehicle was heavily damaged and had to be towed.
-- Oct. 27 at 10:09 a.m. at Middleton. A motorist on Highway 101 observed three youth throwing pumpkins from the overpass. The caller didn’t think they were attempting to hit vehicles but just watching the pumpkins smash below. A patrol was made and the smashed pumpkins were located. Police went to the overpass on Dodge Road where they located other pumpkins that were unharmed. They also found some tire marks from bicycles. Police were unable to locate the pumpkin perpetrators.
-- Oct. 27 at 10:24 p.m. at Middleton. Police were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Highway 101. Police went to the scene to find EHS assisting a male who had a diabetic incident while driving. EHS treated the 45-year-old man and he was cleared to continue on his way.
-- Oct. 28 at 4:01 p.m. at Middleton. Police received a complaint of a lost wallet which contained ID cards, cash, and bank cards. Police advised the caller to cancel bank cards. Police later learned the wallet was located on a Kings Transit bus. There was nothing missing from the wallet.
-- Oct. 28 at 9:24 p.m. at Clementsport. Police were called to a report of two four-wheelers driving on the road. Police made a patrol to the area but the four-wheelers were not located.
-- Oct. 29 at 8:06 a.m. at Nictaux. Police were called to a gravel pit in Nictaux where an abandoned vehicle was found. Police contacted the owner of the off-road vehicle who said it had broken down and they would be there to collect it.
-- Oct. 29 at 10:28 a.m. at Nictaux. Police were called to a complaint of an assault. As the result of an investigation, a 40-year-old man has been charged with one count of assault. He will appear in court at a later date.
-- Oct. 30 at 2:41 p.m. at Meadowvale. Police received a complaint of damage to a vehicle where the caller reported that their back window was smashed out. There was an object in the back seat used to smash the window. Nothing was taken. The car was brand new.
