The Tories are on top in a new provincial poll.
Support for the governing Liberals dropped 11 percentage points to 30 per cent, according to a quarterly survey of 600 Nova Scotia residents conducted by MQO Research.
Support for the Progressive Conservatives jumped five percentage points to 38 per cent, while the number of people supporting the New Democratic Party was relatively unchanged at 18 per cent.
The Green Party also saw an increase of five percentage points, with 12 per cent of decided and leaning voters say that’s where they’d cast their ballot.
The number of undecided voters, too, saw a five percentage point jump to 45 per cent.
“The Liberals lost support to both the PC Party and the Green Party in Nova Scotia,” Stephen Moore, MQO vice president said in a news release. “The real problem for the governing Liberals is that they are losing support in HRM — their traditional fortress.
“They currently lead, but the increased support for the Tories and Greens means they are getting squeezed.”
The telephone poll was conducted May 3-13. The margin of error for the total sample is plus or minus four percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
