Man accused of beating, stabbing victim in Windsor marijuana theft released from custody

WINDSOR, NS - A man charged with beating and stabbing a victim in a marijuana theft in Windsor has been released from custody following a bail hearing.

Christopher Samuel Hodges, 34, who according to court documents now resides in Aylesford, was present in provincial court in custody on Nov. 23.

He’s charged with beating and stabbing a man in stealing 35 grams of cannabis marijuana from the alleged victim; assault with a weapon, a knife; failing to comply with probation; possessing cannabis marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking in cannabis marijuana.

The Crown consented to Hodges’ release on a $2,000 non-cash recognizance with a surety. Hodges will return to court on Jan. 23 for election and plea.

It’s alleged that Hodges committed the offences in Windsor on Nov. 16. The charges have not been proven in court.

Amanda Dawn Weir, 29, is also charged with possessing marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking in cannabis marijuana. She is scheduled to make an initial court appearance on Jan. 23. Charges against Weir have not been proven in court.
