KENTVILLE, N.S. — A 21-year-old Lunenburg County man charged in relation to a recent stabbing in White Rock is no longer in custody.

Joshua Emino, 21, was released on recognizance with two sureties following an appearance in Kentville provincial court Sept. 3.

He stands accused of stabbing an individual known to him in White Rock at about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 30. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP allege Emino committed multiple offences, including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Emino’s sureties both pledged $1,000 in agreeing to supervise the accused.

Court documents state that Emino is released from custody on a number of strict conditions.

The former West Northfield resident must reside in an approved residence in Mahone Bay, keep the peace, adhere to a curfew and abide by imposed travel restrictions.

Emino is not allowed to have any contact with the victim, and he is not to possess firearms or prohibited weapons.

He is due back in Kentville provincial court for election and plea Oct. 8.
