MIDDLETON, N.S. - Highway 1 is closed just west of Middleton after a two-car crash with injuries happened near the entrance to TRA around 2:30 p.m.
Cpl. Dion Canning said at the scene the collision appeared to be head-on and that a Lifeflight helicopter was expected to land, probably at Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
Canning had no word on injuries and was turning west-heading motorists around to detour back to Middleton and either onto Highway 101 or Highway 201.
Two ambulances were on the scene as well as RCMP and firefighters.
It is expected the road will be closed for several hours, Cause of the crash is unknown at this time. Roads were bare and dry, but the crash happened on a hill with poor visibility just beyond where the highway crosses a bridge.
