BROOKLYN, N.S. – A two-bay garage on Crestwood Drive was leveled by fire on June 11, although the cause remains unknown as an investigation is underway.
Nobody was injured in the blaze, however, the structure was described as a total loss by Brooklyn fire chief Andy McDade.
“Upon our arrival, there was heavy fire through the roof,” McDade said. “We put a couple of hose lines on and knocked it down quickly.”
Brooklyn received aid from Windsor, Hantsport, Summerville and Mount Uniacke fire departments during the incident.
No injuries were reported.
McDade said the nearby house did “take a little heat” but exposure protection was provided to save the home.
The narrow, gravel road was blocked by fire trucks for a time as they continued to work on the scene.
“The winds were at our back, which went right into the garage and superheated everything,” he said. “Away she went.”
