DIGBY, N.S. – Digby RCMP is investigating two property crimes in the community of Danvers, which is located east of Highway 101, about halfway between Meteghan and Digby.

Police are asking for the public to assist with information related to these incidents, both of which were reported to police on March 2:

• A suspicious fire at a cabin located just off Danvers Rd. The cabin was completely destroyed, and when police attended the scene, the fire was completely extinguished. It was clear that it had occurred some time before it was reported. Investigators located accelerants on-site. The RCMP is being assisted by the Office of the Fire Marshal, and the investigation is ongoing.

• A residential break and enter to a home on Danvers Rd. The suspect(s) took frozen food from the residence. This investigation is also ongoing.

Digby RCMP is asking anyone with information concerning these incidents to contact the Digby District RCMP at 902-245-2579, or 1-800-803-RCMP (7267). Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can also contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or via secure web tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash award.
