WINDSOR, N.S. — As a journalist at a community newspaper, I take hundreds of photos each year. The assignments range from covering sporting events to breaking news, and feature everything in-between.

Every day serves as a fresh chance to capture a compelling image in hopes of advancing a story.

Looking back at 2018, here are some of my favourites.

Justine Blatt-Janmaat powered up the pitch for the Horton Griffins. The Valley team took on King's-Edgehill School in the Western Zone Division 1 semi-final and won 29-15 to advance to the final. Blatt-Janmaat not only plays high school rugby but also plays at the provincial and national level as well.
