CANAAN, N.S. - A Canaan man has been arrested and is facing charges relating to sexual assault and child luring allegations.

An RCMP release states that David Harrison, 39, was arrested Nov. 20 at his home in Canaan after RCMP obtained a warrant and searched his home.

The RCMP Technological Crime Unit assisted with the investigation.

Harrison was remanded into custody after his arrest and will appear in Kentville provincial court Nov. 21 to face charges of sexual assault, sexual exploitation and child luring.

These charges are in relation to incidents alleged to have begun in 2013. Police were contacted by an alleged victim in July, who was 16 at the time it is alleged the offences began.

Anyone with information relating to these allegations is asked to contact Kings District RCMP at 902-679-5555, or submit an anonymous tip via Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.
