AVRSB annual meeting sees chairwoman acclaimed, vice-chairwoman re-elected

BERWICK, NS - The chairwoman of the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board (AVRSB) has been re-elected by acclamation.

At the annual board meeting on Nov. 1, Lavinia Parrish Zwicker was selected as chairwoman by her fellow board members. She has served as the AVRSB’s chairwoman since 2006 and has 23 years experience as a school board member. Parrish-Zwicker thanked the board for the opportunity.

“Guided by our vision of Working Together for Students, my fellow board members and I will continue to support student success through strong collaborative working relationships,” she said.

Following Parrish-Zwicker’s re-election by acclamation, Susan Ritchie was re-elected as vice-chairwoman. Sandy Fraser was re-elected as the third member of the board executive.

Ritchie has served as an AVRSB member since 2004 and this is her seventh term as vice-chairwoman. Fraser has been a board member since 2008 and this is his third term as a member of the board executive.
